KAPPA CHAPTER HERSTORY

ΓΑΩ

Gamma Alpha Omega, Kappa Chapter at Oregon State University
was founded on April 29th, 2000, to become the
FIRST & ONLY Latina based sorority in the state of Oregon.
It began by a group of young women interested in finding a group that had sense of belonging and a strong sisterhood; a place that felt like home.
Cerise Barton, from the University of Washington Gamma Chapter,
came to Oregon State University on exchange with the desire to find women on the OSU campus that were interested in the sisterhood that she already had found.

Through much hard work eight ladies came together to begin the dream.

Our lovely founding madres are:
Patricia Garcia
Amber Bacio
Ana Perfecto
Cerise Barton
Lucia Vijil
Sara Marchel-Bradford
Marcia Torres-Ruiz
Delia Ponce-Ramirez

Claudia Palacios

Yuriana Garcia-Lewis

After much hard work and dedication their dream has continued to flourish and grow with every class. From the first class of Alpha to our most recent Kappa class, we learn the traditions of the past & remember that "in order to move forward, you have to know what has come before you..."
