Registration and Abstract Submission
The Water Research Symposium is free and open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the public. We ask all who plan on attending to complete the registration form. All registrants will receive a free lunch, nametag, and opportunities to attend the lunch-time networking event. Students who register are also encouraged to attend the student mixer (held from 5-8pm on May 11th) and have the opportunity to receive free lodging from Oregon State University student hosts.
We want to learn about your water-related research and help you share it with others! All current undergraduate or graduate student in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho are invited to submit an abstract to be considered for presentation. Your project does not need to be complete in order to submit an abstract. The Water Research Symposium offers a great way to share your research and receive feedback on your work, no matter the stage of completion. Please review the information below and our presentation guidelines before submitting an abstract. Presenters must complete both the registration and abstract submission forms.
Abstracts must be submitted through our online form (see link below) by March 31st 11:59 PM PST to be considered for the 2014 Water Research Symposium. The maximum abstract length is 350 words. Presenters can request an oral or poster presentation; however, because there is a greater capacity at the symposium for poster presentations, the planning committee may offer those who request an oral presentation a poster presentation instead. The planning committee will review all abstracts submitted by the deadline that meet submission criteria. Abstracts acceptance / decline notices will be sent via email by April 14th.
February 17th – Registration & Abstract Submission opens
April 11th – Abstract Submission closes at 11:59 PM PST.
April 14th – Notification of accepted or declined abstracts via email; confirmation of available lodging for presenters interested in staying with an OSU student
April 21st – Release of the symposium program with presentation times listed
April 25th – General registration closes at 11:59 PM PST
May 9th – Presentation materials (PowerPoint slides, videos, etc.) due to the Symposium Team via email by 11:59 PM PST (firstname.lastname@example.org)
May 11th – Optional student mixer at McMenamin’s from 5:00 – 8:00 PM
May 12th – 4th Annual Water Research Symposium
